M E S S A G E
As we continue to open our doors to the world and to the
challenges of globalization, we shall continue to make every
effort to promote e-governance that will pave the way to a
well-informed and empowered nation. At the same time, it strengthens
our campaign to make our people appreciate what their government
is doing for them and make them actively participate in governance.
Efforts to link the 41,959 barangays with national government
and non-government organizations through the Gabay sa Mamamayan
Aksyon Center (GMAC) is a tremendous task. But the evolution
of technology is proving to be a practical tool in bridging
the gap between the government and the people. The creation
of the virtual GMAC will readily make available information
about the programs and services of the national government
and support the government’s overall efforts to achieve
progress at the grassroots level.
I encourage our barangay constituents to explore the wonders
of the information tool so that they may see and feel that
their government works for them and at the same time appreciate
the benefit they acquire from the virtual GMAC.
I congratulate the Department of the Interior and Local Government,
particularly the National Barangay Operations Office and the
Local Government Academy for this endeavor to continuously
bring the government closer to the people. Let us continue
to work together to bring excellence in governance and transform
our country into a strong republic!
