7th ASEAN Summit Declaration on HIV and AIDS
The 7th ASEAN Summit Declaration on HIV/AIDS HIV/AIDS aims to combat the spread of AIDS in ASEAN countries. While prevention remains the foundation of the Declaration in curbing the region’s HIV/AIDS pandemic, treatment, care and support for those infected also feature prominently.
ASEAN Commitments on HIV and AIDS
Reaffirming ASEAN’s earlier commitments to effectively respond to HIV in the ASEAN region, made at the first Special Session held in conjunction with the 7th ASEAN Summit in November 2001 in Bandar Seri Begawan, and reiterated at the 9th ASEAN Summit in October 2003 in Bali, the 2nd ASEAN-United Nations Summit in September 2005 in New York and the 11th ASEAN Summit in December 2005 in Kuala Lumpur;
Millennium Development Goals
Target 6A of the Millennium Development Goals (MDG) aims to halt and begin to reverse the spread of HIV and AIDS by 2015.

An Act promulgating policies and prescribing measures for the prevention and and control of HIV/AIDS in the Philippines, instituting a nationwide HIV/AIDS information and educational program, establishing a comprehensive HIV/AIDS Monitoring System, strengthening the Philippine National AIDS Council, and for other purposes.
