The Key Officials of the Academy are the current members of the Executive Committee (ExeCom). The ExeCom is headed by the Executive Director and is ably supported by a team that includes the Assistant Director, the Division Chief and the Assistant Division Chief from the four (4) Divisions and (1) Unit, the setup was based from the Rationalization Plan implemented in 2013.

Office of the Director (OD)
Functions: Manages the operations of the LGA with the support of the ExeCom; Performs advisory services to the SILG on capability building programs for local government; and Reviews and approves plans, programs, policies and standards needed for the overall operation of the LGA.
Research, Policy and Development Division (RPDD)
Functions: Serves as the clearing house of policies and standards on capacity development programs for LGUs and Department personnel; Undertake research and development studies on capacity development programs; Manages the information system, publications, M&E and library services; Maintains a repository of local governance knowledge information and products; Provides secretariat support to the LGA BOT.
Local Governance Training and Development Division (LGTDD)
Functions: Develops and implements capacity development programs for LGUs; Initiates the formulation of policies and standards on capacity development for LGUs; Manages the conduct of international benchmarking for LGUs; and Provides secretariat services to the DILG-CO Local Government Scholarship Committee (DILG-CLGSC)
Human Resource Development Division (HRDD)
Functions: Develops and implements capacity development programs for DILG personnel; Initiates the formulation of policies and standards on capacity development programs for DILG personnel; Develops and oversees the implementation of Department-wide policies and standards on HRDM; and Facilitates the participation of DILG personnel in scholarship programs
Administrative, Financial and Management Division (AFMD)
Functions: Support services for Finance and Budget; Supplies, materials and equipment; HRMD; Records management and General Services. The AFMD also supervises the LGA Training Center in Los Baños, Laguna.
International Partnership Unit (IPU)
Functions: Develops program/project proposals; Provides technical assistance in managing the networks of LGRRCs; Develops and manages institutional partnership (Local and International); Manages special projects; Provides secretariat services to the LOGOTRI-PhilNet and Provides technical assistance in managing the DRRM-CCA outcome area of the Department.
