STREAM II: SEMINAR-WORKSHOP
SERIES ON POVERTY REDUCTION
I. Strengthening the Barangay Peace and Order Committees
The maintenance of peace and order is part of the long-term
foundation of genuine development. It is a shared responsibility
between the national and local governments.This course aims
to empower the BPOCs and recognize their crucial role in peacekeeping
and public safety improvement. This will capacitate and mobilize
the BPOCs towards the promotion of public safety in the community.
The participants are required to come up with a Barangay
Public Safety Plan as a critical output of the training.
II. Upgrading the Proficiency of Barangay Tanods
- Radyo Aralan: Ang Tanod at Kapayapaan
This course is especially designed for Barangay Tanods who
help in the development of a community through the critical
role they play in maintaining peace and order in the barangays.
This aims to increase their knowledge in performing their
tasks and responsibilities as public safety officers.
One of two parts of the program is the general orientation
which the LGA will handle. This will utilize the radio as
a medium for distance learning and will be supplemented by
the accomplishment of a participant's workbook and participation
in a series of workshops that will be facilitiated by trained
DILG Coaches.
