LGA SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Requirements:
Before the preliminary screening, applicants are required to prepare and submit documents to the DILG-CLGSC Chairperson thru its National Secretariat:

Documentary Requirements:
To be considered in the pre-assessment, the nominees should submit the following documents not later than stated date of submission to the DILG-Central Local Government Scholarship Secretariat with office address at 8F Agustin I Bldg., F. Ortigas Jr., Ortigas Center, Pasig City.

OFFICIAL ACCEPTANCE
Nominees who are officially accepted to participate in foreign scholarship programs will be informed by the DILG-CLGSC National Secretariat thru their respective DILG Regional Offices.
Upon receipt of information, accepted nominees are requested to immediately coordinate with DILG-CLGSC Secretariat for further instructions on the processing of other travel documents. Acceptance Letter and Travel Authority will be issued by the DILG-CLGSC national Secretariat. The duly accomplished Scholarship Service Contract will be submitted to DILG-CLGSC National Secretariat and DFA.
ACCEPTED NOMINEES ARE ALSO REQUIRED TO COMPLETE THESE REQUIREMENTS
1. Official Passport which can be secured from the Diplomatic and Official Passport section (DOPS) of the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) upon presentation of the following documents:

While the application for passport is being processed by DFA, the nominee shall contact the donor embassy for pre-departure briefing.
2. The Travel Tax Exemption Certificate (TEC) can be secured at the Philippine Tourism Authority of the Department of Tourism.
The following are needed for the issuance of TEC:
a. Copy of Travel Authority
b. Copy of Letter of Acceptance and Note Verbale
c. Official Passport
d. Application Fee
3. The Visa can be obtained from embassy concerned. The visa is not mandatory. This depends on the country and duration of training.
The following are needed in securing visa:
a. Valid Passport
b. Original Copy of the note verbale from DFA released together with the passport (for official passport holders)
c. Two passport size pictures
d. Two copies of visa application forms
4. The Airline Ticket can be claimed from the respective airline offices, upon the advice of the embassy and presentation of the following requirements:
a. Valid passport with visa
b. Original Travel Tax Exemption
FINANCIAL ENTITLEMENTS
Grantees can claim financial entitlements (e.g. pre-travel expenses, clothing allowance) from their respective offices subject to the availability of funds. Please refer to Executive Order #248 or the Prescribing Rules and Regulations and New Rates of Allowances for Official Local and Foreign Travels of Government Personnel.
DEPARTURE
While at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, please prepare the following:
1. Passport with Visa
2. Airline Ticket
3. Airport Terminal Fee
4. Extra copy of Travel Authority for inspection or submission at the check-in counter and at the Bureau of Customs counter.
UPON ARRIVAL
Upon arrival in country of training, register with the nearest Philippine diplomatic or consular office. Registration form can be secured at TESDA-NSC, Taguig City. Accomplished registration form can be submitted either personally or by mail. Please get the address of the Philippine Embassy in the donor country.
RETURN TO THE PHILIPPINES
The grantee is required to submit a written report on the training, with recommendations as to application in the Philippine setting, to the DILG Secretary thru the CLGSC and TESDA-NSC, Taguig City within 30 days after returning. Also, the grantee is required to submit to the CLGSC a re-entry plan or proposal for application of newly-acquired skills or expertise. The DILG-CLGSC National Secretariat shall monitor the compliance and submission of the required documents.
