The Local Government Academy Training Center (LGATC),
formerly the Community Development Center (CDC),
is the national training institution of the Department
of the Interior and Local Government (DILG). Established
in 1957 by the former Presidential Arm on Community
Development (PACD), it is located within the cool
and green campus of the University of the Philippines, in
Los Baños, Laguna. The training center, whose architecture
blends that of the 50's and 90's, serves as venue for training
of local government officials and functionaries nationwide
and of DILG Central and Field Offices personnel.
Thousands have participated in the many in-service trainings,
orientation courses, third country trainings, seminars,
workshops and conferences that have been held in the center
and it continues to house more trainings. The center's facilities
can also be availed of upon request of any government and
non-government agencies, private associations, local governments
and other foreign organizations.
